10’ ‘Swallow’ dinghy – Miles Jordan and Danielle Crothers
Miles and Danielle are restoring this 10’ traditional clinker dinghy. The dinghy is believed to be built by Naval dockyard apprentices as her design and construction is very similar to that of Royal Naval Sailing Association (RNSA) dinghies.
‘Swallow’ was a gift to the Academy form Jeremy Caterham, an Academy Graduate. She is planked in teak on oak frames and was completely re-timbered and re-nailed before any new planks were fitted.
‘Swallow’ is gunter rigged. Miles and Danielle made a new sail for the dinghy as part of a four day sail making short course at the Academy.
