How to apply for short courses
If you are thinking about joining a short course we are always happy to discuss which course or series of courses are appropriate for you. If you have a boat you would like to bring to the Academy to work on as part of a short course, please email basic details (length and construction type) along with photographs of the areas that need work. We will let you know as soon as we can whether you can bring the boat for the group to work on as part of the course.
Some people are able to make sails for their own boat on the Sail Making course. Please let us know what you would like to make and we will let you know whether it is possible.
When you know which course you would like to join please complete an application form and send it to us with full payment for the course. The application form also asks if you would like to reserve a room on-site in the Lyme Regis Marine Centre (home to the Boat Building Academy). If our rooms are full we are happy to send details of a range of accommodation in Lyme Regis.
Once we have received your application we will send a receipt for the fee, confirmation that you have a place (and room if required) reserved and an information booklet about the Academy, giving details on where to come on your first day and what to bring with you.
