17′ Sea Kayak – Duncan Riddle
Duncan Riddle opted to combine two designs to produce a hull that suited his requirements. While originally looking for a suitable design we came across a kayak called Aleutesque by Guillemot Kayaks. Duncan liked the look of the curved stern of Aleutesque, but the bow sections didn’t suit his requirements, preferring that of a West Greenland Kayak or a more modern variation of that form. The hull of the boat will be strip planked in western red cedar and sheathed in glass fibre. The deck will be moulded in 1.5mm sapele veneers with details in either spruce or yellow cedar.
