Taught by expert designer/maker Mark Ripley this course is an opportunity to develop hand and power tool techniques using one of three prepared projects as a training exercise. Choose from a chair, console table or wine table. Previous woodworking experience is necessary.
The aim of this course is not to teach furniture making as such but to use pre-set projects as a training exercise to develop existing skills. The course is particularly useful for people wanting to develop recreational woodworking, set up a home workshop or as pre-vocational training for students considering a longer course. It includes small group teaching and one to one tuition. Course notes will be provided for the techniques covered. Mark’s book ‘Making Furniture: Projects and Plans‘ is available as a workshop resource during the course and available to purchase at a reduced price of £10.
The fee includes materials and use of tools. The piece of furniture you make is yours to take home.
