Tim Whitcomb flew over from Japan to attend the course. He has a Degree in Architecture and has worked in Marketing and Design for the last ten years. Tim used an innovative approach to his two assessment pieces by rounding off the dovetails to reshape the traditional square box design. He adapted the Cherry and Maple cabinet by adding Walnut panels, moulding and handles handmade to his own design. Tim is making a set of music stands for his personal project piece. The stands will be made from air-dried Ash, Cherry, Oak and Brown Oak on steam bent feet. The music stands are of an elegant, lightweight construction with a functional design.
